Community Development

Umnotho provides a daily cooked meal to 300 people. The plate has 2 veggies, meat, and starch.  

Umnotho provides access to land and resources for families to grow their own food. The food gardens are a way to teach communities to fish for themselves.

The gardens provide food for families, supplies the kitchen and also generate income for the beneficiaries.

We provide the following Training:

• Waiters and Bar Tenders

• End User Computer

• Plumbing, Welding, Fork Lift

Umnotho has trained more than 3000 people.

We provide:

• Job preparation session

• On-the-job training

• Access to information

• Exchange programs

Woman make 68% of the Umnotho beneficiaries. Poverty and homelessness affects women the most since they are mainly the primary caregivers in the households.

Umnotho promotes platforms that are women friendly and supports programs that lift women from the deadly cycles of poverty.

Owning land allows Umnotho to provide working spaces to small businesses and income generating projects. There are 14 businesses accessing space and support around the properties owned by Umnotho.

The small businesses are trained and supported by Seeds of Africa, a non-profit organisation that provides training and seed capital to the small businesses in and around Muldersdrift.
